Lysosomal storage disorders (in particular Gaucher disease, alpha-mannosidosis, beta-mannosidosis, Fabry diseases) and their correlation with Parkinson's disease (PD). Patients with Eating Disorders (EDs), such as Anorexia nervosa (AN), Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and Binge Eating Disorders (BED) have been enrolled since 2011. Genetic, epigenetic and metabolomic will be investigated to understand the molecular mechanisms that together may predispose to EDs. First of all, more that 160 SNPs will be studied because they are associated with high risk to develop an EDs and also with the severity of diseases. Using a next generation sequencing (NGS) panel we want to identify which genes are associated with syndromic forms of AN in order to increase the knowledge of genetic etiology under AN and other EDs. Moreover, DNA methylation profiles at promoter region of SCL6A4 gene, serum kynurenine/tryptophan levels and ratio (Kyn/Trp), and psychopathological traits in a cohort of EDs patients are under investigation together with hair metabolomic analysis. Biomaterials (e.g., regenerated silk fibroin) and their use to promote human wound regeneration, protection from UV, and other biological process. These materials with a 4D printed resulted bioresorbable, safe for cells, flexible, self-adhesive and furthermore they are surprisingly piezoelectric devices that can modify their shape during time under electric filed, pH, Temperature, and other stimuli.
